Your designated Relocation Consultant is an extension of the Client HR team and will be comprehensively trained on your company’s specific policies and procedures. The Relocation Consultant communicates and administers the relocation policy benefits to your transferee.

Direct Reimbursement.  Odyssey will manage the real estate process and reconcile the HUD against approved Client policy benefits.  No risk is taken on behalf of the client and the real estate reimbursements are taxable income to the employee.

Buyer Value Option. With the Buyer Value Option program, no appraisals are ordered, and depending on client policy, a “safety net” guaranteed buyout offer may or may not be made. When the transferee receives an outside offer, Odyssey will extend an offer to the transferee that matches the buyer’s (provided the terms are acceptable). We then acquire the property from the transferee and, in a separate transaction, close the sale with the outside buyer. In the rare case of a sale fall-through, the property would be taken into inventory and resold.

Appraised Value Option. In an Appraised Value program, the valuation process is completed per client policy for home marketing and ordering of appraisals, and a guaranteed offer is extended to the transferee based on the appraised value. After the client-mandated marketing period, Odyssey then purchases the property from the transferee on behalf of our Client for the net sales price. Odyssey manages the resale of the inventoried property in a separate sale and then sells the property to the final, outside buyer. A guaranteed buyout provides for a guaranteed purchase of the teammate’s home when time constraints or convenience of down time issues are paramount.

Throughout the entire move, our goal is to manage the move for your transferee and remove them from many of the day-to-day logistical planning components—always striving to ensure optimal service levels. The Relocation Consultant would provide end-to-end management of the household goods move process, while coordinating with the designated agent /Van Line.

The Relocation Consultant coordinates the intake of your transferee’s stated desires and needs in order to present the employee and their family with community and real estate options that align with their expectations. Since home finding service delivery is managed by the same Relocation Consultant who manages departure services, the transferee has a single, seamless point of contact throughout the relocation. The Relocation Consultant is aided by destination specialists who work on education, family care, employment, recreational or other needs of the teammate and family. The Relocation Consultant also oversees the performance of the Real Estate Broker and makes adjustments as necessary at the teammate’s request. Additionally, the Relocation Consultant ensures that the teammate is offered objective advice regarding mortgage-financing options.

Odyssey’s rental program includes comprehensive counseling, support and follow-up. Odyssey accesses national, regional and local providers to source rental units on the basis of client budget, policy and teammate preference. We consistently secure housing below the corporate rate offered by some suppliers in this industry. Personal attention is given to all aspects of the teammate’s lease cancellation, home finding preparation needs and a discussion on common lease provisions on the new rental unit. Follow-up occurs to assure the teammate is effective in all meetings and negotiations with the present and potential landlords.

Pre-Assignment and Recruiting Support. Our Global Relocation Consultants will provide pre-assignment consultations, arrange familiarization trips, host area tours, perform neighborhood evaluations and reimburse expenses as determined by your policy.

Assignment Letter. Odyssey does the heavy lifting by providing the template document detailing the terms and conditions of the assignment with the specific information pertinent to the employee. These documents are often referred to as an “Assignment Letter,” “Letter of Understanding,” or “Memo of Understanding,” and become the legal documentation of the assignment.

Assignment Budgets. A detailed budget forecasting total assignment costs will be completed at the onset of the assignment and updated annually. Budget items includes: compensation costs associated with the policy, the relocation costs (both one-time and ongoing), the assignment benefits (above the compensation worksheet elements such as home leave and educations) as well as the tax costs for all years of the assignment.

Cost of Living Products. Odyssey has a strategic partnership arrangement with leading COLA data providers to provide clients with the latest global assignment data and solutions. Odyssey uses our suppliers’ Balance Sheet Plans, Long-Term Per Diems and Cost of Living Indices to assist clients in structuring and planning long-term assignments.

Assignment and Policy Counseling. Odyssey’s Global Relocation Consultants are skilled customer service professionals and have been trained to manage assignee expectations and advise assignees on benefit eligibilities, entitlements and procedures. Each Global Relocation Consultant will work carefully to ensure that policy and agreement guidelines and limits are respected and enforced. At the same time, our Consultants work hard to earn the trust and respect of their assignees.

Ongoing Assignment Management. Odyssey will support, coordinate, schedule, pay, and report on company-approved recurring expenses incurred by assignees for housing norms, cost of living adjustments, rents, education allotments, automobiles, etc., beyond relocation and throughout the course of an assignment according to policy or company direction.

New Area Assimilation Services. Our assimilation program utilizes the services of local destination service providers in host countries who help assignees and families get acclimated to new locations and new customs. Specific services include evaluating, arranging and/or securing government identification numbers, services, insurance coverage’s, utility set-ups, home furnishings, extra-curricular activities and community programs.

Corporate Housing. Odyssey will coordinate and manage short-term and  long-term temporary living and rental facilities throughout the globe based upon Assignee or Client needs.  Odyssey processes security deposits, negotiates lease agreements, arranges furniture rentals, remits lease payments, coordinates utility services and maintains properties with on the ground and in-country suppliers.

Rental Assistance. Our strategic suppliers across the globe employ rental specialists that specialize in servicing renters and managing renter policies. These specialists are experienced at selecting communities, locating available rentals, negotiating lease terms and minimizing lease termination penalties.

Mortgage Services. Odyssey’s has relationships with mortgage brokers and financial institutions that allow them to provide assignees with a wide variety of mortgage options at competitive rates.  These firms are also equipped for direct billing and to satisfy specific needs such as mortgage subsidies and hardship loans.

Supplier Expense Management. We have designed systems and processes to manage third party supplier invoices. Our expense management coordinators audit invoices for compliance with policy, contract terms, discount arrangements and payment terms. We’ll work directly with third-party suppliers to resolve payment inquiries and invoice issues.

Assignee Expense Management. Our expense management system facilitates a turnkey approach to processing assignee payments and reimbursements in home, host or any currency. Our Expense Specialists use the same system to audit against policy, track adjustments and exceptions, classify expenses for gross-up purposes and remit payments to assignees. We provide several payment options (check, wire, or direct deposit) and can issue payments in any regularly used currency.

Payroll and Tax Services. We provide benefits-in-kind compensation and tax reporting for global assignments. We provide tax calculations on the basis of a gross-up and/or tax advance methodology and can take into account non-resident and dual status tax filings as well as any impacts from home/host or split payroll. We can interface directly with our clients’ payroll departments and client directed tax preparers as part of our standard service offering.
